The Two People You Need to Impress

Somewhere between childhood and old age, it is easy to start living according to everyone else's expectations — parents, friends, partners, school, careers, social media, or the person we think we are supposed to become. Lisanne Fear knows what it feels like to lose herself in those expectations and what it takes to begin finding herself again. Through extraordinary stories from a 5,000-mile horseback journey across America and candid reflections on her own mental-health journey, Lisanne invites audiences to explore authenticity, purpose, relationships, asking for help, resilience, sacrifice, and the courage to build a life that actually belongs to them. Drawing from lived experience rather than clinical practice, Lisanne approaches mental health through honest conversation, hope, purpose, connection, and the importance of asking for help.

AUDIENCE TAKEAWAYS

• Be authentically you. Mental wellness is harder to protect when your life is built entirely around other people's expectations.

• Purpose matters. Passion can give direction to our lives, and serving something larger than ourselves can give that passion meaning.

• Asking for help is strength. Independence does not mean doing everything alone. Strong relationships are built by showing up, trusting, and letting others show up for us.

• Big dreams have a cost. Meaningful goals require work, courage, honest choices, and sometimes sacrifice — but we do not have to have everything all at once.

STORIES THAT CARRY THE MESSAGE

• Crossing East St. Louis on horseback and finding humanity, curiosity, and connection in a place everyone warned her not to enter.

• Relying on her team and horses during a nighttime emergency after her psychiatric service dog was bitten by a copperhead.

• An unexpected piece of advice from a stranger on the road that permanently changed how Lisanne measures a life well lived.

• The sacrifices, unexpected 'trail magic,' relationships, failures, and moments of purpose that carried a 14-month mission across America.

“Not everyone is meant to own a wild horse, but everyone should pursue their passion.”

ABOUT LISANNE

Lisanne Fear is a long rider, founder, mental health advocate, and speaker. She completed a 5,000-mile, 14-month horseback journey from Delaware to California to raise awareness for mustangs in government holding, speaking with communities throughout the journey about mustangs, purpose, resilience, and pursuing a meaningful life. Her experiences with mental health, identity, relationships, purpose, and asking for help now shape a broader message: everyone has mental health, and authenticity, connection, purpose, and appropriate support can all play meaningful roles in how we care for it. Her journey is the subject of the 2026 documentary 5,000 Miles 5,000 Mustangs. She is also the founder of Fifty Shades of Bay, a developing 50-state mission centered on mustangs, human mental wellness, understanding, connection, and purpose.
